Bollywood Singer Asha Bhosle Death: Bollywood’s legendary singer Asha Bhosle has passed away. Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle breathed her last at the age of 92. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai a day earlier on April 10 after his health deteriorated. He died on Sunday, April 12 due to multi-organ failure.
Asha Bhosle maintained her name in Bollywood for almost 8 decades. In his career, he sang more than 12,000 songs in 20 languages. Due to this, his name is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Besides, Asha Bhosle has also received 9 Filmfare Awards.
Sung the first song in a Marathi film
Asha Bhosle was born on 8 September 1933 in a musical family. His father Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar was an actor and classical singer. Asha Bhosle Swar Kokila was the younger sister of Lata Mangeshkar. When Asha Bhosle was nine years old, her father passed away. After this his family moved from Pune to Kolhapur and later to Mumbai. Following the footsteps of elder sister Lata Mangeshkar, she also came into the world of music. Asha Bhosle first sang the song ‘Chala Chala Naav Wala’ in the Marathi film ‘Majha Bal’ (1943). While his first song in Bollywood was ‘Sawan Aaya’ in the film ‘Chunariya (1948)’. The journey of music and songs that started from here continued for more than five decades and Asha Bhosle soon became one of the stalwarts of Indian music.

Asha Bhosle is the younger sister of the legendary late singer Lata Mangeshkar. Like her elder sister, Asha has also had a historic career. Asha Bhosle started getting success in her professional career from the year 1957. His song ‘Ude Jab Jab Zulfen Teri’ was a big hit, which he sang with Mohammad Rafi Sahab. After this the singer started getting good recognition. But his personal life had become quite turbulent. Everything was not well between Asha Bhosle and her husband. After a few years, Singer left her husband’s house along with her children. Asha Bhosle earned a lot of fame from 1950s-1980s. Then came the 90s, where he was chosen by AR Rahman for the title track of the film ‘Rangeela’. This song is still heard and liked somewhere today.
Won 9 Filmfare Awards

Ran away from home and got married at the age of 16
Asha Bhosle is the daughter of famous theater actor and classical singer Dinanath Mangeshkar and younger sister of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. When she was just 9 years old, her father passed away, due to which she, along with her sister Lata Mangeshkar, started singing to support the family. At the age of 16, Asha Bhosle eloped and married her elder sister Lata’s 31-year-old secretary, Ganpatrao Bhosle. Lata ji and her family were strictly against this marriage. Due to this he had stopped talking to Asha for a long time. After marriage, Asha Bhosle had to face a lot of difficulties and she also became a victim of domestic violence. She was so disappointed with life that she wanted to commit suicide. She separated from her first husband in 1960. When Asha Bhosle’s first marriage broke up and she came back to her family with her three children (Hemant, Varsha and Anand), the distance gradually started reducing.

Second marriage with musician RD Burman
Asha Bhosle’s second marriage was to musician RD Burman. Both of them first met in 1956. At the same time, their deep friendship and musical journey started during the film Teesri Manzil (1966). Then, while working continuously, their good friendship gradually started turning into love. One day, RD Burman took a chance and proposed marriage to Asha. Asha immediately said yes, but Burman’s mother flatly refused the marriage. He told the barman that if this marriage takes place, it will take place only on his dead body. Burman’s mother was refusing because Asha was 6 years older than him and was the mother of 3 children. Then Burman silently agreed with his mother. However, when Burman’s father SD Burman passed away, the mother’s mental condition deteriorated. In such a situation, to improve his mother’s condition, Burman married Asha Bhosle in 1980. Asha Bhosle and RD Burman (Pancham Da) did not have any children of their own.
