Bomb threat maker arrested: Delhi Police caught Mysuru man, sent mails to schools-government offices more than 1000 times
Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested a man from Mysuru, Karnataka, who is accused of making over 1,100 fake bomb threats to schools, high courts and government offices across the country. Officials gave this information on Monday.
The accused has been identified as 47-year-old Srinivas Lewis. According to officials, he was arrested from his rented house on Saturday in a joint operation between Delhi Police and local police.
This arrest comes amid increasing incidents of threatening messages being sent to the Delhi High Court, Assembly and several educational and government institutions recently. Police said that Lewis has completed post graduation and is a resident of Bengaluru.
He is currently unemployed and lives with his mother, who is a retired government employee. A senior officer said, “Preliminary investigation indicates that he may be under mental stress.
During initial interrogation, the accused has confessed to sending more than 1,100 threat messages across the country through email and other communication mediums.” According to the police, several FIRs were lodged in different states following these threats.
