Bomb threat to Gujarat Assembly: Premises evacuated amid budget session, chaos created
Gandhinagar. On Wednesday, shortly before the commencement of the House proceedings under the budget session in Gujarat, an email containing a bomb threat was received in the Assembly premises. The officers provided this information. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Piyush Vanda said that the email claimed that a bomb had been planted in the Assembly premises, following which all employees and MLAs were asked to vacate the premises.
He told that the proceedings of the House under the budget session were to start at 9 am, but the officials came to know about this threat at 8:45 am. The DSP said, “As soon as information about the bomb threat was received through email, the local police reached the spot and started an operation to search for explosive materials.” He said that nothing suspicious has been found so far.
