Bomb Threats: Threat to blow up 10 big hotels of Lucknow, demand for ransom of 55 thousand dollars

Lucknow : On Sunday, October 27, in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, at least 10 big renowned hotels were threatened with bomb blasts. The threat was sent via email by unidentified persons, stating that if a ransom of $55,000 (approximately Rs 4.6 million) was not paid, the hotel would be blown up.

Bomb disposal and disposal squad reached the spot and investigated, but they did not find any suspicious object. The email read, “Bombs have been hidden in black bags in your hotel premises. I want $55,000 or I'll explode. Blood will spread everywhere. Any attempt to defuse the bombs will not succeed.”

Brajesh Kumar, manager of a hotel, said that he had received a threatening email in the morning. After this he informed the local police about the matter and the police team reached the spot. “We already have arrangements for scanning the guests and their luggage, yet we are helping the police,” he said.

A senior police officer said that information about this matter has also been given to the cyber crime unit. During the investigation, three hotels were thoroughly searched, but nothing suspicious was found there. Another senior Uttar Pradesh government official said, “Standard practice has been followed. “Standard procedures related to evacuation of people and investigation by bomb disposal squad were followed.”

This threat comes at a time when Indian aviation services have also received several fake bomb threats in the last fortnight. More than 350 flights have faced such threats in the last 14 days, most of which have been issued through social media. The authorities have taken the situation seriously and taken all necessary steps and are making every possible effort to ensure the safety of passengers.
