Two masked men riding a bike threw bombs outside Seville Bar & Lounge and Diora Club in Sector 26, Chandigarh and fled from the spot. Seville Bar & Lounge Club is partnered by famous rapper Badshah. The explosion shattered the glass outside the club. Police investigation revealed that low-intensity homemade bombs were thrown outside the clubs, with no casualties reported. Police and forensic team have taken samples from the spot.

DSP said that 'at 3.25 in the morning we informed the control room. When the police reached the spot, the glass of the club was broken. Police have registered the case after recording the statement. The masked accused came from in front of Sector-26 police station. The accused had parked the bike on the slip road. First he threw a homemade bomb outside the Savile Bar and Lounge. After this he reached outside Diora Club to throw the bomb. There is a distance of about 30 meters between these two clubs.

When the blasts took place outside the clubs in Chandigarh, the clubs were closed. There were no casualties due to this. Only security guards were present at the spot, who informed the police. Guard Purna Singh told that the accused had come on a bike. One youth started the bike and stood there, the other youth threw the explosive. Both their faces were covered with clothes.

 

Police suspect extortion

The police is also investigating the incident from the extortion angle. Gangsters have extorted money from many club managers in Chandigarh and many have been threatened. Meanwhile, extortion may be the motive behind the incident. The police are investigating the matter in depth. CCTV footage of the surrounding area is being examined.
