Bon Appétit, Your Royal Highness was created and made available through an OTT platform, making it one of the best K-dramas ever made available. This one-of-a-kind K-drama is a great mix of cooking, time-travel fantasy, historical drama, and romance set within the inner workings of a modern-day male chef in a royal palace during the Joseon Dynasty. The last scene of Season One provided much satisfaction to viewers and left them wanting a second season with new fusion cooking recipes, relationship development between the main characters, additional time-travelling storylines, and plenty of tear-jerking moments.

As of February 2026, it is not known whether Season 2 of this drama has been confirmed by either Netflix, tvN, or production. Originally broadcast from August 23 to September 28, 2025, this series was called a limited series because it was created to show a complete story in one season; unless there is enough demand and quality creativity for another season.

Based on unpublished content by the author (and from what you’ve seen in Season 1), here are the major elements of suggested material for a “Second Season”.

There will be an expanded mythology around time travel when King Lee Heone enters modernity (which is likely going to be part of the first arc), following the couple’s reunion as they connect over time periods. There will also be new culinary contradictions and injustices found as the 18th century versus the 21st century. As well as incomplete courtly intrigue and political deadlocks.

Thus, Season 1 has a complete sense of closure at the end. Moreover, the viewers of the series have no trouble viewing Season 1 as a completely self-contained narrative, and therefore any story continuation would have to be justified because the narrative contained within it is “new.”
