Its maximum speed will be 321 kilometers per hour, or approximately 200 miles per hour, reducing travel time by 80 percent compared to road travel.
Once fully charged, it can travel approximately 160 kilometers in the air. For safety, it features a multi-layered backup system, and each flight will be operated by an experienced commercial pilot to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for passengers.
How to book an air flight using the Uber app
Dubai has simplified this high-tech service so that even ordinary people can easily use it. When you open your Uber app and enter your destination, if an air route is available on that route, the app will show you the option of an ‘Air Taxi’ along with a regular cab. The most important feature of this entire journey is that your entire journey from home to destination is covered in a single booking.
First, a standard Uber cab will pick you up from your pickup point and take you to the nearest vertiport (takeoff point). From there, you’ll board an air taxi, and after landing near your destination, another cab will drop you off at your final destination. This means your entire journey will be seamless with a single ticket and a single app.
What will the experience be like inside this ‘flying taxi’
The cabin of this electric taxi has been designed like a private lounge, with enough space for four passengers in addition to the pilot. The cabin features extremely comfortable seats and large windows, allowing passengers to enjoy spectacular views of Dubai’s magnificent landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah, during the flight. It’s equipped with six special propellers that allow it to take off and land vertically, like a helicopter, eliminating the need for a runway.
