**Border 2** Advance Booking Update: Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh’s patriotic war drama is garnering tremendous buzz ahead of its release. This film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by J.P. The sequel to Dutta’s 1997 iconic blockbuster *Border*, the story is based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film pays tribute to the bravery, unity and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces through an emotional story.

According to industry tracker SACNILC (latest data as of January 22, 2026), advance bookings for the opening day (January 23) have seen a strong surge. Excluding blocked seats, the film has sold approximately 185,139 to 215,777 tickets from 14,054 to 14,378 shows, earning approximately Rs 5.94 crore to Rs 6.86 crore (mainly from the Hindi 2D format, with a slight contribution from 4DX and negligible contribution from Dolby Cine). Including blocked seats, the total figure is even higher, with some reports estimating over Rs 10 crore in pre-sales as bookings picked up in the last hours (say, Rs 10-11 crore or more; BookMyShow sales reached 224,000 tickets in a recent update).

Trade sources such as Pinkvilla have reported strong pre-sales, especially at national chains (over 55,000 tickets had been sold by the end of January 21, with numbers expected to rise further). The film is set for a double-digit opening, which is expected to pick up on the last day like previous hits like *Gadar 2*. The regional contribution of Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh is highest.

**Border 2** has a stellar cast: Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana along with Sunny Deol in the lead role.
