Brad Pitt vs Angelina Jolie Winery case: Court asks Pitt to present evidence
The documents mentioned will play a vital role in maintaining Angelina Jolie's allegations of abuse and Pitt's attempt to hide the truth. Jolie's lawyer Paul Murphy said on November 26, “We are pleased that the court has ruled in Angelina's favor.” He said, “Mr Pitt fought for years to hide this vital evidence. They will now have to produce documents and communications related to the abuse, lying to authorities and years of cover-up. “His actions harmed Angelina and her children and are at the center of this case.” Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt reportedly downplayed the significance of the decision. The source called the decision “largely irrelevant because they've already given so much information.”
The verdict comes after the 'Salt' actress' team alleged that Pitt forced her to sign a non-disclosure agreement about the abuse. This was to allow her to sell her share of her winery to her ex-husband. Furthermore, Jolie's lawyer said that the star did not want the case to go this far. She was more concerned about the well-being of her children. The former couple has six children. “He never pressed charges, he gave up all his property, and he's the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place,” Murphy said. However, he alleged that Jolie's ex-husband continues to demand more, despite “controlling Miraval and the winery at all times.”
For those unaware, the legal feud began in February 2022 when Pitt accused Jolie of illegally selling her shares of the winery without his consent. This allegedly violated an agreement that neither party would sell its stake without mutual approval. Meanwhile, in earlier court documents, Pitt's team described Chateau Miraval as a cherished family project. He recalled how the couple had purchased the property to build a home for their children and a business venture. Notably, as per reports, the two exchanged vows over the property in 2014. Subsequently, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016.
