Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos divorces wife amid $162M fortune dispute
The settlement could be complicated due to Carlos’ estimated £133 million (US$162.3 million) fortune. Luccon is currently residing in their main home in Madrid, while her parents are staying in a second home in Brazil. Sports Stadium reported that Carlos has temporarily moved to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex.
But the 51-year-old legend dismissed rumors about where he is living via a post on X on Jan. 8.
“In recent days, I have become aware of false and damaging stories circulating about me and my family,” he wrote. “While I value privacy, I feel compelled to address the baseless rumors about my living situation. These fabricated stories are entirely false and seem designed to generate clicks.
“I remain at a private residence, supported by members of my family. My legal team is reviewing these claims and will take appropriate action,” he added.

Carlos married Luccon in 2009 and the couple shares two daughters, Manuela and Mariana. However, the former left-back is known for his complex personal life. In a past interview, he admitted, “I only have two wives, but I don’t know how many children I have with different women.”
By 2011, Carlos revealed that he had nine children: seven in Brazil, one in Mexico and one in Hungary. That number has since increased, with AS reporting that Carlos has 11 children with seven women, including two official wives.
Carlos’ first wife, Alexandra Pinheiro, had three children with him before their divorce in 2003. With lawyer Alessandra Martins, he has a son. Carlos also fathered a child with reporter Simone Hamilkoto and two more children with his ex-girlfriend Barbara Thurler, who accused him in 2017 of failing to pay child support. A year later, he requested Thurler and two children to move out of his home.
Additionally, Carlos has two children with Hungarian Alexandra Fedrato and another two with Mexican beauty Dora Robles. AS reported that he is not close with all of his children.
In 2017, he became a grandfather after his daughter Giovanna gave birth to her first child.
One of the greatest left-backs of all time, Carlos is celebrated for his iconic free kicks and decorated career. During his time at Real Madrid (1996–2007), he won four La Liga titles and three Champions League titles. Internationally, he made 125 appearances for Brazil, scored 11 goals, won the 2002 World Cup and finished as runner-up at the 1998 World Cup. Currently, Carlos serves as a football ambassador for Real Madrid.
