Bread Pakoda Recipe: Bread Pakoda is a popular and spicy snack of Indian kitchen, which is especially liked during the rainy and winter seasons. Everyone likes the pairing of hot bread pakoda and tea. It is crispy from outside and soft and spicy from inside. It is easy to make at home and does not require much material.
Ingredients required to make bread pakoda
- bread slices
- boiled potatoes
- Green chilli (finely chopped)
- Ginger (grated)
- coriander leaves
- salt as per taste
- chilli powder
- garam masala
- dry mango powder or lemon juice
- Gram flour
- Turmeric
- Celery
- Oil (for frying)
- Water
Method to prepare potato stuffing
First of all, mash the boiled potatoes well. Add green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and dry mango powder and mix well. This mixture is ready for delicious stuffing of bread pakoda.
How to make gram flour batter
Take gram flour in a vessel. Add turmeric, salt and celery in it. Prepare a thick and smooth batter by adding water slowly. Keep in mind that the solution should neither be too thin nor too thick.

Cut the sides of the bread slices. Now spread the potato stuffing on one slice and cover it with the other slice. Cut the prepared bread sandwich into desired shapes. Now dip this bread thoroughly in the gram flour solution and fry it in hot oil on medium flame until it becomes golden and crisp.

Serve bread pakodas with hot green chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato sauce. Sprinkling a little chaat masala on top further enhances the taste.
important tips
The oil should not be too hot, otherwise pakoda It will burn quickly from outside and may remain raw from inside. Adding a little rice flour to the gram flour batter makes the pakodas more crunchy.
