Bread Pakoda Recipe: During the cold season, one often feels like eating something spicy along with tea. Material
- Bread slices – 6-8 (ordinary white bread or brown bread)
- Boiled potatoes – 3-4 (medium size, mashed)
- Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
- Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Mango powder (amchur) – 1/2 tsp
- Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- salt to taste
- Oil – for frying
- Gram flour of gram dal – 1 cup (for making batter)
- Asafoetida – a pinch (optional)
Ritual (Bread Pakoda Recipe)
1-First of all, mash the boiled potatoes well. Then add chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, mango powder, roasted cumin, red chilli, turmeric and salt. Mix well.
2-Take bread slices and cut their edges and separate them. Now fill the bread slices one by one with the potato mixture, that is, place the potato mixture on one slice and then cover it with the other bread slice.
3- Prepare a thick batter by adding gram flour, water, salt and a little asafoetida in a bowl. Heat oil in a pan.
4-Now, dip the prepared bread sandwich in the gram flour batter and put it in hot oil. Fry the pakodas until they become golden and crispy. When they are cooked well from both sides, take them out. Serve bread pakodas hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney, or tomato sauce.
