Salman Khan, accused of involvement in terrorist activities in Bengaluru, is accused of criminal conspiracy, membership of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and providing material for terrorist operations. Authorities allege that he helped supply arms, ammunition and explosives for terrorism-related incidents in the city.

The case against Khan was initiated by the Bengaluru City Police after the recovery of a huge cache of weapons in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. In a raid last year, officials had seized seven pistols, four hand grenades, one magazine, 45 bullets and four walkie-talkies. These items were allegedly meant to help terrorists operating in Bengaluru.

The NIA registered a case against Khan in 2023 under various provisions including the Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act and terrorism-related sections. His role in coordinating the supply of arms and explosives to further the terrorist agenda of Lashkar-e-Taiba is being investigated.

Khan's extradition from Rwanda is a significant achievement in the investigation, which officials have described as a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism. The joint efforts of NIA and CBI underline India's commitment to detect and prosecute terrorists across international borders. Further investigation is underway to gather additional information about Khan's network and his involvement in other terrorism-related activities.
