End of baseball! Brendon McCullum removed from the post of head coach of England Test team, 4-year tenure ended suddenly

England Test Team Head Coach: After Ben Stokes’ retirement from international cricket, Brendon McCullum’s four-year tenure as England’s Test head coach ended suddenly. With this, the ‘Bazball’ era also came to an end, which had completely changed the team’s approach towards red-ball cricket. Although the official statement of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said that McCullum himself would step down, but from the statements of the former New Zealand captain it seemed that he had been removed. He said that he respects the decision of the board. However, McCullum will remain the coach of England’s ODI and T20I teams.

This New Zealand player, who took over the responsibility in 2022 after England’s very poor Ashes campaign in Australia, along with Stokes made a tremendous change in the team.

Got the worst test team

McCullum, appointed on a four-year contract, inherited a team that had won only one of the last 17 Test matches. He reshaped the team’s identity through a highly aggressive style of cricket, which became known as ‘Baseball’. An emotional McCullum admitted that he was very sad at not being able to progress as a Test coach. He said that of course, I am saddened by not being able to move forward, but I respect the decision. Now my entire focus is on giving my best to the white-ball teams and helping England progress.
