Bride dies due to adulterated turmeric, know how to identify real and fake turmeric

Knews Desk– Khargone (Madhya Pradesh). A serious case of adulteration has come to light, in which a bride died allegedly due to the use of adulterated turmeric. This incident happened during the Haldi ceremony during the wedding ceremony, after which the entire family was shocked. The health of both the bride and groom suddenly deteriorated, but the bride could not be saved during treatment.

According to the information, after coming in contact with the turmeric used during the Haldi ritual, symptoms like red rashes, swelling and difficulty in breathing appeared on the body of both of them. When the situation worsened, he was immediately taken to the hospital, where the bride died during treatment. This incident has once again exposed the dangers of food adulteration.

Experts say that adulteration of spices available in the market has become a common problem, which can have serious effects on health. Adulteration of even an everyday item like turmeric can become a threat to people’s lives.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sameer Bhati has given some easy home remedies to identify adulterated turmeric, with the help of which common people can do the initial test at home. He told that the difference between real and fake turmeric can be understood through a simple test.

For this it is advisable to take two transparent glasses. Add equal amount of turmeric powder in both the glasses and then add equal amount of water in them. Watch it carefully for a few minutes. If the turmeric is real then its color gradually becomes lighter and it settles down, while the water does not become too dark yellow.

At the same time, if turmeric is adulterated then the color of the water immediately becomes dark yellow or orange and remains the same for a long time. Apart from this, adulteration can also be estimated by comparing both the glasses.

According to experts, this home method is useful for initial testing, but laboratory testing is the most reliable means for completely accurate results.

Food experts say that while buying spices, people should buy only from branded and trusted sources, so that the risk of adulteration can be avoided. This incident is a warning that even small carelessness can have serious consequences.
