Bring the girl or I will kill your wife! Husband kidnapped TV actress for custody of daughter
Bengaluru: Chaitra R, a Kannada TV serial and film actress, was allegedly kidnapped by her estranged husband Harshvardhan. Its purpose is said to be to gain custody of his one year old daughter. This incident is related to marital disputes and the police have registered a case and started investigation.
Marital disputes and separation
Chaitra and Harshvardhan were married in 2023. There were fights going on between the two for the last seven-eight months, due to which they separated. Harshvardhan lived in Hassan, while Chaitra was living in a rented house on Magadi Road, Bengaluru with her younger daughter. Even after separation, Chaitra continued working in serials. Harshvardhan is a businessman and is also associated with film production.
kidnapping plot
On December 7, Chaitra told the family that she was going to Mysuru for shooting. But according to the complaint, this was part of her husband’s plan. Harshvardhan allegedly gave Rs 20,000 to his associate Kaushik.
Kaushik called Chaitra to Mysuru Road metro station at 8 in the morning and from there he forcibly put her in the car and took her towards Nice Road and Bidadi. At 10.30 in the morning, Chaitra somehow called his friend Girish and informed him about the kidnapping. Girish immediately informed the family.
Harshvardhan threatened actress’s mother
In the evening, Harshvardhan reportedly called Chaitra’s mother Siddhamma. He accepted the kidnapping and said to bring the daughter to the specified place, only then Chaitra would be released. Later he talked to a relative and asked him to bring the girl to Arsikere.
The family members, who were separated in Tiptur and Bengaluru, united and approached the police. Chaitra’s sister Leela lodged a complaint. Police have registered a case against the accused including Harshvardhan and Kaushik.
