A brilliant performance from Brody Couch has secured a thrilling 2-wicket victory for San Francisco Unicorns against Seattle Orcas on June 27 at Oakland.
His 3/41 and 26* runs played a crucial role in the Unicorns’ win against Orcas. By this win, San Francisco retained their fourth spot in the MLC 2026 points table.
After choosing to bat first, Tim Seifert and Shayan Jahangir opened the innings while Xavier Bartlett opened the bowling attack.
The duo forged a solid start, scoring 60 runs for the 1st wicket. Xavier Bartlett bagged the first wicket, dismissing Tim Seifert for 32 runs.
With Shayan Jahangir and Matthew Breetzke at the crease, Seattle Orcas scored 83 runs in the power play.
The duo forged a 78-run partnership for the second wicket, where Shayan Jahangir smashed a fifty and scored 62 runs before being dismissed by 62 runs.
Breetzke also smashed a century, but other batters lost wickets at intervals. With a small contribution from Ali Sheikh and Dasun Shanaka, Seattle Orcas scored 191 runs before losing all 10 wickets.
Brody Couch bagged three wickets, Xavier Bartlett, Ghulam Mudassar and Matthew Short bagged two wickets each.
Chasing the 192-run target, Luan de Pretorius and Finn Allen opened the innings while Marcus Stoinis opened the bowling attack.
Stoinis bagged the wicket of Finn Allen for a duck, while Baartman bagged the wicket of Matt Short for 10 runs.
Stoinis bagged the wicket of Sanjay Krishnamurthi for 3 runs as San Francisco Unicorns lost three wickets for 26 runs.
With Lhuan dre Pretorius and Aaron Hardie at the crease, Unicorns scored 51 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a 99-run partnership before the dismissal of Aaron Hardie for 28 runs. Dasun Shanaka bagged the wicket of Hammad Azam for a duck.
Meanwhile, Lhuan dre Pretorius smashed fifty and went on to score 87 runs before being dismissed by Gannon.
