Brother Rahul Bhatt’s friendship with 26/11 terrorist, is this the reason for Alia Bhatt’s silence on Dhurandhar?

Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ is dominating Bollywood these days. It is a spy thriller based on the story of breaking the nexus of Pakistan’s underworld and ISI, and also features the character of 26/11 Mumbai attacks planner David Headley. The film has been praised by many stars like Karan Johar, Shraddha Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Hrithik Roshan, but one name is missing, Alia Bhatt. Alia and Ranveer are good friends. Both have worked together in ‘Gully Boy’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.

Ranveer had heavily promoted Alia’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, but now when the biggest hit of Ranveer’s career is going on, Alia is silent. Recently in an interview, he praised Ranveer, but did not even mention ‘Dhurandhar’ of only 6 years old ‘Gully Boy’. Now fans are asking why Alia did not praise Dhurandhar? However, many other big stars are included in this list like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Saif and others.

Even Mukesh Khanna praised

The big thing is that veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has also praised Ranveer Singh. Which is surprising the fans a lot. Shaktimaan starrer Mukesh who is also known for the role of Bhishmapitamah in Mahabharata. He has always been unhappy with Ranveer and has made many direct criticisms about him. Praising Dhurandhar, Mukesh said, ‘Great elements have been included in this film. The direction of the film and the acting of the actors is also excellent. This is an amazing film, such films should continue to be made.

Is this the real reason for this?

The real reason for this is related to Alia’s family. Alia’s step brother Rahul Bhatt had a close friendship with David Headley. According to Times Now, in 2008-09, Headley met Rahul in a gym in Mumbai and both became good friends. Headley took Rahul around Mumbai, even warning Rahul not to go to South Mumbai just before the 26/11 attacks. When Headley’s name came up after the attacks, Rahul Bhatt came into the limelight. Although Rahul got a clean chit in the investigation (he was only a witness, not an accused), the tag of ‘Headley’s friend’ still sticks. Rahul himself has said that he still receives online abuses and this trauma has made him paranoid.

Bhatt family always remained silent on this

Headley has a role in ‘Dhurandhar’, and the film is on the theme of terror attacks like 26/11. If Alia had praised the film, the old wound would have reopened and Rahul Bhatt’s friendship with Headley would have started trending again in the media and social media. Bhatt family already remains silent on this topic. Mahesh Bhatt also never said anything openly on this which would increase controversy. Alia is professionally smart and would not like to be associated with anything that would again highlight her brother’s old connections.
