Brought gold from Saudi by hiding it in screw driver, UP resident arrested at IGI Airport
A person has been arrested for gold smuggling at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The accused man was with a woman who was on a wheel chair. It is reported that the accused was around 20 years old and was traveling with a woman.
The flight came from Jeddah, Saudi
According to the information received, the accused person is originally from UP and had come from Jeddah to Delhi on flight XY-329. Both the passengers were caught at the exit from Green Channel. Actually, during the x-ray screening, something suspicious was seen in the woman's bag, after which she was stopped.
Investigation revealed that a cylindrical shaped yellow metal piece weighing 257 grams was recovered from the screwdriver. Both the accused had come to Delhi on 14 and 15 January 2025. The officials have recovered the gold and investigation into the matter is ongoing. Such cases have also been seen in which the accused try to smuggle gold.
