Brunson praises Knicks teammates before Game 4 vs. Cavs
The New York Knicks pulled off their third consecutive win in the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. Now, they’re one game away from a sweep.
The Knicks have been strong all season, so it’s not a surprise that they’re inching toward the final series, but to see them on the road to a sweep this late in the playoffs is impressive, to say the least.
During Saturday’s matchup, Jalen Brunson clocked 30 points, Mikal Bridges had 22 and OG Anunoby snagged 21, so this was a team effort. That wasn’t lost on Brunson. After the game, he gave his team some love during the team’s postgame news conference.
Jalen Brunson says how proud he is of Knicks teammates ahead of Game 4 vs. Cavaliers
“We have a bunch of individuals in that locker room who work really hard, and they’re very psychotic about their work and things they do,” Brunson said after the game, according to ESPN. “When their number’s called and when it’s time to go, they’re ready. A lot of real professionals on our roster.”
Also, after the game, Josh Hart of the Knicks talked about how he’s playing less this postseason, but that’s keeping him fresh on the court. While he averaged a massive 37.6 minutes per game last season, this season, he was fifth among New York’s starters at 30.2 minutes.
“Obviously, minutes are down, but last year, I felt like I didn’t have much (energy) in terms of getting to this point. I’d never gotten to this point before,” Hart told the media. “This year, I focused on more nutrition, working on my body more, making sure my body and recovery is good. Obviously, minutes (down) is helping.”
Next up, the Knicks and Cavaliers meet again in Game 4, scheduled for Monday in Cleveland. The hometown crowd should be a boost to the Cavs, but the Knicks have proved that they’re still threats on the road.
