After recharge became expensive, lakhs of people have ported their SIM to BSNL. Now, continuing this trend, the company has made a plan to provide free internet to the users.
Internet will be free
The company is planning to provide many types of facilities to the customers through a scheme. Under this campaign of BSNL, a target has been set to install BTS (Base Transceiver Station) towers. This will make it easier for the company's services to reach its customers. The aim of the company is to provide internet and calling facilities in remote areas.
Target to install 6300 towers
Under the special campaign of BSNL, a target has been set to install 6300 towers in Uttar Pradesh. There are many districts of UP where customers have started getting 4G facility of BSNL. A target has been set to install all 6300 towers by March 2025.
Expectations have increased due to increase in tariff
In July, Reliance Jio and Airtel made recharge plans expensive, which had a direct impact on the common man's pocket. In such a situation, people started looking for other options. BSNL benefited the most from this. According to TRAI, Airtel and Jio saw a decline in customers in July, while BSNL added about 29 lakh new customers in the same month.
