BSNL has launched new facilities such as spam blockers, automated SIM kiosks and direct-to-device services.
The government-owned telecommunications company BSNL is experiencing tremendous demand after private telecom service providers such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea increased their mobile tariffs. BSNL is also continuously launching new pocket-friendly mobile plans to attract more users after the hike in tariff plans. Additionally, the company has introduced a series of new offerings for its customers. These facilities include spam blockers, direct-to-device services, and automated SIM kiosks. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia unveiled BSNL’s new logo and also launched the new services—seven in all.
Low Latency 5G Connectivity
BSNL has paved the way for mining operations by introducing highly responsive 5G connectivity. This initiative, a joint effort with CDAC, utilises homegrown equipment coupled with BSNL’s tech expertise. Its anti-spam solutions diligently sift out phishing attempts and malicious messages, creating a safer communication atmosphere for customers.
Automated Sim Kiosk
The company has also introduced automated SIM kiosk services which operated for 24 hours. His facility enables people to purchase, transfer and upgrade their SIM cards. They can also pay for this facility via – UPI or QR. With streamlined KYC processes the kiosks simplify telecom solutions.
Direct-To-Device Connectivity
India has rolled out its inaugural solution offering direct connectivity to devices, which brings together satellite and mobile networks in one powerful package. This innovation, according to the announcement, notably shines during times of emergencies or in out-of-reach areas, as it ensures continual connectivity necessary for UPI transactions in such places.
BSNL has succeeded in building its own 4G telecom framework, with the added capability of evolving into 5G. This is a considerable leap forward for India, Scindia said.
“Our hope is that BSNL will always be at the forefront of tech innovation,” Scindia said.
Scindia has voiced his confidence, stating that BSNL has continually put public interest at the forefront while achieving several significant milestones across the years. In his opinion, despite the industry getting fiercer with competition and consolidation, he trusts that BSNL is equipped to tackle any fresh challenges with success.
