Millions of mobile users in India have switched to BSNL, Jio and Airtel have suffered losses due to expensive recharge plans

According to the data, after the tariff hike, the number of subscribers has decreased in the North East, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Mumbai, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh circles. Fixed line connections increased by 1 percent, reaching 3.5 crores. Due to expensive plans, there has been an additional burden of up to 25 percent on the pockets of mobile users.

BSNL users increased by more than 29 lakh

According to a report by news agency PTI, BSNL's subscriber base increased by more than 29.4 lakh in July. It was the only telecom company that saw subscriber growth this month.

Jio and Airtel customers decreased

In July, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea saw a huge drop in the number of subscribers. Jio lost 7.58 lakh subscribers, Vodafone Idea lost 14.1 lakh, and Airtel lost 16.9 lakh subscribers. Thus, the trend of customers has shifted from private telecom companies to government BSNL.
