BTS’ Jungkook refuses to perform Standing Next To You with Usher at the Super Bowl; here’s why

Unquestionably one of the most well-known K-pop performers, Jungkook of BTS has also established himself internationally. He worked with Usher on the Standing Next To You remix for his first solo album, GOLDEN. The pop sensation extended an invitation to him to sing the song at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, but he had to turn it down because of his military service.

The New Yorker published an interview with Bang Si Hyuk, Scooter Braun, and other people on October 8, 2024, in which they discussed their varied professional paths.

However, because of his enrollment in the South Korean military, Jungkook turned down the invitation to perform at the ceremony. He enlisted in the military in 2023 and is currently assigned to the Republic of Korea Army’s 5th Infantry Division.
