A 21-year-old youth was injured after being shot in Pitambara Colony of Hazira police station area. He had gone to the shop to buy goods. According to police, the firing took place during an ongoing fight nearby. Investigation is ongoing.
Madhya Pradesh: A shocking incident came to light on Thursday night in Pitambara Colony of Hazira police station area. 21-year-old Ajit Sharma, who lives here and is a student, had gone from home to a nearby grocery shop to buy groceries. He gave the slip to the shopkeeper and stood there waiting for the goods to be taken out. Meanwhile, suddenly there was a loud sound of gunshot and Ajit fell on the ground. Blood started flowing from his hand, causing chaos on the spot.
After the incident, the people present nearby immediately helped the injured youth and took him to the nearest private hospital. The doctors there, after preliminary examination, diagnosed him as gunshot injury and referred him to JAH Trauma Center as his condition was serious.
There is a possibility of a bullet being fired during a fight nearby.
Initial police investigation has revealed that some youths were fighting among themselves at some distance from the place where Ajit was shot. It is suspected that during this fight some youth opened fire and the bullet strayed and hit Ajit.
Injured Ajit told the police that he did not clearly see the youth who fired, but after the firing, some youth were seen running away from the spot. The police is investigating the entire matter on the basis of this statement.
Police examining CCTV footage
As soon as the information was received, Hazira police station immediately reached the spot and inspected the spot. After this, the police started investigating the CCTV cameras installed nearby, so that the person responsible and the circumstances of the firing could be found out.
ASP Vidita Dagar said that the condition of the youth is currently stable and his treatment is going on. Police have registered the case and efforts are being made to identify the suspected youth. Officials say that after investigation, strict action will be taken against the culprits.
