Bumper relief for farmers! Interest of Rs 2266 crore waived off for 6.81 lakh people, new loan will also be available

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has given very good news to the farmers and laborers. The government has launched One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) on loans taken from Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS). Under this scheme, interest amounting to Rs 2,266 crore of more than 6.81 lakh farmers and laborers will be completely waived off.

Complete details of interest waiver scheme

This scheme will run till 31 March 2026. If farmers deposit their original loan amount in PACS, then the entire interest will be waived off. At present, PACS has a total outstanding loan of Rs 3,400 crore, most of which is interest only.

The main thing is that this relief will also be given to the families of the deceased farmers. If the heirs of about 2.25 lakh deceased farmers deposit the principal amount, then their interest of about Rs 900 crore will be waived off. As soon as the OTS is completed, farmers will be able to take a new loan in three installments within a month, so that there is no shortage of money for the next crop.
