Bundesliga Fantasy Manager points when games are postponed

What happens when your best-laid Bundesliga Fantasy plans are ruined because a game is postponed, be it because of snow or any other reason? Here’s what you need to know for your team…

After two games were called off on Matchday 16, Bayer Leverkusen’s trip to Hamburg is the latest fixture to be postponed, this time due to stadium roof safety concerns.

While a postponed match will be replayed at some stage, players’ Fantasy points in the rescheduled game will not be calculated, i.e. there are no ‘double gameweeks’ where a team earns two sets of points by playing twice.

Instead, players will be awarded points for the respective matchday based on their season average.

The Fantasy rules state:

“If a match is postponed or abandoned, the players of those teams will receive their seasonal points average. If they are starred, they will still get 1.5x points.

“Should a fixture be postponed or abandoned on Matchday 1, players will be awarded the average total of all players in their position (goalkeeper/defender/midfielder/forward) who played 70 minutes or more that matchday.”

As an example, with Leverkusen’s game at Hamburg postponed to a later date, any manager with Alejandro Grimaldo in their team will therefore earn 314 points (his season average prior to Matchday 17) without him even playing.

Managers who had him as their star defender will earn 471 points.

The same applies for goalkeepers. In the case of this fixture, only Daniel Heuer Fernandes and Mark Flekken have played this season, so they will earn 157 and 161 points respectively.

If a club had two goalkeepers who had played and earned points, they would both receive their average, if they had a game called off.

The top 11 function remains in place, ensuring the best possible 11 players according to your selected formation are still fielded.
