The target of both of them were big businessmen, from whom they used to promise large amount of loan at low interest and low processing fees and extorted huge amount of money. Bunty and Babli had cheated Rs 70 lakh in Kanke police station area of ​​Ranchi, after which the fraud couple Shivaji Patil and Angela Kujur were arrested.

Actually, businessman Sarojkant Jha of Ramgarh district was lured by Angela Kujur and Shivaji Patil alias Amit Mahato and defrauded of Rs 74 lakh. Sarojkant Jha had lodged an FIR in Kanke police station of Ranchi. According to the complaint, Angela Kujur and Shivaji Patil had asked the businessman to get a loan at low interest. In return for this, Rs 74 lakh was also extorted from the businessman. Due to non-availability of loan, a land agreement was made in a fake manner, even though that land did not belong to the swindler couple. When both the husband and wife were arrested, it was learned that they had defrauded many businessmen in the name of getting loans.

Ranchi Rural SP Praveen Pushkar said that the police investigation has also revealed that the couple had duped a businessman of about Rs 42 lakh by luring a businessman working with a youth named Sudam Barik from Odisha.
