Burglary in the dark of night in Gorakhpur Gola, thieves escaped with jewelery and cash worth lakhs.

Gola: Gorakhpur) A major theft incident that took place in Tanda village of Badhalganj police station area on Friday night has given sleepless nights to the villagers. Unknown thieves broke into a house and stole cash and jewelery and valuables worth lakhs of rupees. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident, while the villagers have raised questions on the working style of the police regarding the increasing incidents of theft in the area.

According to the information, unknown thieves entered the house of Haresh Tiwari, resident of Tanda village, late on Friday night by breaking into the back wall. The thieves broke the locks of the cupboards and boxes kept in the house and took away about Rs 50 thousand in cash, two gold rings, a gold chain, silver jewellery, anklets, toe rings and goods worth lakhs of rupees. After committing the crime, the thieves easily escaped and the family was not even aware of it.

When the family members woke up on Saturday morning, they were shocked to see the sight inside the house. Items were scattered in the room, locks of cupboards and boxes were broken and valuables were missing. As soon as information about the incident was received, a crowd of nearby villagers gathered at the spot. The victim’s family immediately informed the police and also gave a written complaint to the police station demanding action.

Villagers say that there has been a continuous increase in theft incidents in the area for some time. Despite this, the police patrolling and monitoring system does not appear to be effective. People allege that if there was regular patrolling at night, the courage of thieves would not have been so high. The villagers have demanded to strengthen the security system in the area and to reveal the incidents of theft soon.
On the other hand, the police say that investigation into the case has been started on the basis of the complaint. The thieves are being searched on the basis of facts and other clues found from the spot. Now the eyes of the villagers are fixed on the police action. People say that the revelation of this theft incident and the recovery of the goods will be the real test of the efficiency of the police.
