Burj Khalifa painted in the colors of AI Impact Summit, new strength in India-UAE partnership

The summit, organized under India’s digital policy framework, has attracted global attention, with French President Emmanuel Macron and tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia announcing significant investments in India’s AI ecosystem.

The summit is being held during India’s BRICS chairmanship, and the French leader described it as a unique opportunity for Paris and New Delhi to promote responsible AI development in both countries on global platforms.

India AI Impact Summit 2026 brought together government policymakers, industry AI experts, academics, technology innovators and civil society to advance global discussions on AI. This summit was organized from 16 to 21 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The summit considers the changing possibilities of AI, which aligns with India’s national vision of “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay” and the global principle of “AI for Humanity”. The objective of this summit is to promote global cooperation on governance, security and social impact of AI.

The three core pillars of the summit “People, Planet, Progress” aim to promote AI as human-centric and ensuring equitable benefits across societies, as well as promoting environmentally sustainable and inclusive technological development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated “MANAV Vision” (Moral and Ethical Systems, Accountable Governance, National Sovereignty, Accessible and Inclusive, Valid and Legitimate) during the summit.

During the summit, Tata Group and OpenAI announced a partnership to build 100 MW of AI infrastructure in India, expandable to 1 gigawatt.

The summit also saw the launch of new large language models from Bharatjan Param2 (17 billion parameter model for 22 languages) and Sarvam AI. Apart from this, India AI Impact Expo was extended by one more day to 21st February, because of the tremendous enthusiasm from the public.

The summit was attended by more than 110 countries, 30 international organizations, more than 20 heads of state and government and about 45 ministers. Key investments include Google’s US$15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Microsoft’s US$50 billion investment for Global South AI by 2030, and Nvidia’s partnership for advanced Blackwell GPUs.
