Butch Yet Affordable: 7 New SUVs Heading Your Way
SUVs are seeing huge demand across the globe, and almost every car manufacturer has started shifting its focus towards this segment. Many brands now even have electric SUVs in their line-up. SUVs are usually known for their rugged looks and dominating road presence. Here is a list of 7 butch yet affordable SUVs that are likely to get launched soon.
1. Renault Bridger
The first SUV on this list is the upcoming sub-4-metre SUV from Renault. The brand has already confirmed that it is working on this model, which is expected to launch in India around 2027–28.
Renault recently teased the rear quarter panel of the SUV’s concept, and the project is currently being referred to as Renault Bridger. The official unveiling of the concept is expected to happen soon.
The Bridger will be a rugged-looking sub-4-metre SUV and is expected to feature a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, giving it a proper off-road inspired appearance. It will likely be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which could produce slightly more power and torque than the engine used in the Renault Kiger.
This new SUV will be positioned between the Kiger and the upcoming Renault Duster in Renault’s India lineup.
2. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
Mahindra & Mahindra has been working on a facelift for its popular SUV, the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

With the update, Mahindra is expected to introduce a revised grille, updated bumper, new alloy wheels, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. There are also rumours that the facelift could finally bring a panoramic sunroof to the SUV.
The 2.2-litre turbo diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options are expected to remain unchanged.
3. Mahindra Scorpio Classic Facelift
Along with the Scorpio N, Mahindra is also expected to update the Mahindra Scorpio Classic this year.

The facelift is likely to bring minor exterior changes while retaining the SUV’s traditional and rugged design. The Scorpio Classic will continue to be offered in limited variants with a rear-wheel-drive layout.
It will be powered by a 2.2-litre detuned mHawk diesel engine that produces 130 PS and 300 Nm of torque.
4. Mahindra Vision S
Another interesting SUV from Mahindra is the production version of the Mahindra Vision S concept.

This is expected to be a sub-4-metre SUV with a boxy design, and several test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads. The production version is expected to stay largely similar to the concept showcased earlier.
The SUV will likely offer rugged styling, premium interiors, and both petrol and diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmissions.
5. Mahindra Vision T
Mahindra also showcased the Mahindra Vision T, a rugged five-door SUV concept, last year.

The production version is expected to arrive in India sometime next year. The design takes inspiration from the Mahindra Thar.e concept that was showcased a couple of years ago.
This SUV will likely be positioned as a stylish yet rugged compact SUV.
6. Mahindra SXT
The Mahindra SXT is another rugged vehicle showcased by Mahindra.

The easiest way to understand the SXT is that it is essentially the dual-cab pickup version of the Vision T SUV. Both vehicles are expected to share similar mechanical components, with only minor design changes differentiating them.
7. Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up
Mahindra previously sold a pickup version of the Scorpio called the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway in India. However, the model did not attract many buyers and was eventually discontinued.

Interestingly, the pickup version was quite popular in international markets like Australia. Mahindra calls this model the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up, and the brand is currently working on the next-generation version based on the Scorpio-N platform.
The new pickup has already been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. However, it is still unclear whether Mahindra plans to launch it in India or if it is being developed mainly for export markets.
