BUV ranks among world’s top 200 universities for art and design

The rankings released last week reflect Vietnam’s increasing presence in international higher education, particularly in creative disciplines.

BUV is currently the only international university in Vietnam included in the top 200 for this subject, alongside institutions such as the Royal College of Art, University of the Arts London, and Glasgow School of Art.

Compared with 2025, BUV rose by 258 places, indicating a significant improvement and reflecting recent developments in its creative education programs.

The 2026 QS rankings were compiled using data from nearly 2,000 universities worldwide. In art and design, institutions are evaluated primarily based on academic reputation and employer reputation.

BUV’s academic reputation reflects its recognition within the international academic community, supported by its curriculum structure, partnerships with degree-awarding institutions, and faculty with international qualifications and experience. These factors contribute to a learning environment focused on creativity and research aligned with British higher education standards.

The university’s employer reputation indicates industry confidence in its graduates. BUV reports that employers value students for their confidence, professionalism, practical mindset, and ability to adapt in the fast-changing digital economy.

The university has also developed a Professional Employability and Experience Feedback (PEEF) system, allowing employers to evaluate students following internships.

Data from the 2024-2025 period shows that 97.3% of students were rated “good” or “excellent.”

According to Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of BUV, as the creative industries become a key pillar of the knowledge-based economy, BUV has focused on nurturing a new student generation with creative thinking and the ability to take ownership across the entire value chain, from idea to final product.

“This international recognition in art and design reaffirms our commitment to delivering high quality British-accredited education, thus accelerating our expansion of academic programmes, deepening industry partnerships, and shaping future-ready talents for Vietnam and worldwide,” Professor added.

Among BUV’s notable programmes are Professional Communication, Film and Media Production, and Contemporary Creative Practice. The university has also partnered with Manchester Metropolitan University to offer dual-degree programmes, including Graphic Design and Illustration with Animation. Its Manchester School of Art is ranked among the world’s top 51-100 institutions for art and design by QS.

BUV also organizes and participates in creative events and academic exchanges to strengthen industry connections and align with evolving trends.

In addition, the university works with a network of more than 500 corporate partners, providing students with access to practical work environments and career opportunities.
