)New Delhi: India has made significant progress according to the latest Asia Power Report of Australia's Lowy Institute. India has become the third most powerful country in Asia, surpassing Japan. This comprehensive ranking evaluates national power based on economic ties, military capabilities, cultural influence and political flexibility. The United States maintains its position as the most powerful country in the region with a score of 81.7. China is followed by China in second place with a score of 72.7. India achieved a score of 39.1, which is 2.7 points higher than 2023. India's lead puts it ahead of other powers like Australia, Russia, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

With this, India has become the third most powerful country in Asia. Meanwhile, Pakistan is ranked 16th, between the Philippines and North Korea. The reason for Japan's declining power is its economic decline. Tokyo has fallen to fourth place in most indicators evaluating the most powerful and influential Asian countries. The annual Asia Power Index, launched by Australia's Lowy Institute think tank, measures resources and influence to assess the relative power of states in Asia.
