‘BJP’s sins will be reduced by praising Vande Mataram…’ Before the discussion in Parliament, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari targeted
Debate over Vande Mataram in Parliament: Today (8 December) there is going to be a special discussion in the Lok Sabha on the completion of 150 years of the country’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’. ‘Discussion on the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram’ has been included in the agenda of the Lok Sabha and this discussion is going to last for 10 hours. Before this discussion, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari has strongly attacked BJP. He said that the parent organization of BJP had opposed the Quit India movement. If BJP is praising Vande Mataram today, then their sins will be reduced a little.

During the special discussion on completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, Modi government will emphasize on its historicity, role in the freedom struggle, cultural and national relevance. Apart from this, there will also be an attempt to corner the main opposition party on some lines removed by the Congress in 1937. On the other hand, Congress will try to corner the government over the Rajya Sabha Secretariat bulletin in which a ban has been imposed on raising many slogans including ‘Vande Mataram’. The debate is going to start with the speech of PM Narendra Modi. While Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be the second speaker. From the opposition side, many MPs including Congress’s Lok Sabha deputy leader Gaurav Gogoi and Priyanka Gandhi are expected to take part in the discussion.
On the debate on Vande Mataram in Parliament, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, “Vande Mataram, Indian National Congress and the country’s freedom struggle cannot be separated; they are one and the same. When the country was fighting for freedom against the British, the parent organization of the BJP, which is in power today, had opposed the Quit India Movement. They were helping the British. If the BJP is praising Vande Mataram today, If so, I would just say that their sins will be reduced a little.”
