According to an official statement, India will supply 40 MW of electricity to Bangladesh, and Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the arrangement through digital medium along with Bangladesh Power Ministry Adviser Mohammad Faujul Kabir Khan and Nepal’s Energy Minister Deepak Khatka. The program was hosted by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal. Under this arrangement, cross-border power transmission of up to 40 MW from Nepal to Bangladesh has been approved by Indian Grid. Muzaffarpur substation (Muzaffarpur-Talkebar 400 kV DC line) and Behrampur substation (Behrampur-Behramara 400 kV 2xDC line located on the Indian border) are the Indian Grid origin and exit points for the three-way power transactions.
