Electric SUV: Chinese company’s midsize electric car launched, it has premium design and advanced features

Electric SUV: Chinese car company BYD has launched a new midsize electric SUV Song Ultra EV in its domestic market, which directly challenges the Tesla Model Y. With affordable price, long range and advanced technology, this model can prove to be a big gamechanger in the global EV market.

Price and color options
BYD Song Ultra EV is priced between approximately ₹20.72 lakh to ₹24.54 lakh (ex-showroom, converted). This SUV comes in variants with 605 km and 710 km range. It has been introduced in four attractive colors like Matter Grey, Ice Blue, Pearl White and Obsidian Black.

Design and exterior
The design of Song Ultra EV is modern and premium. Its length is 4850 mm and wheelbase is 2840 mm. It has a boot space of 730 liters and a trunk of 150 litres. The SUV has stylish elements like sleek LED headlamps, closed grille, 19-inch low-drag wheels, flush door handles and connected taillamps.

Features and Interior
The interior gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch display and 26-inch heads-up display. Apart from this, premium features like ventilated seats, 10-point massage function, 3D ambient lighting and bed mode have been provided. For safety, there are 7 airbags, 360-degree camera and LiDAR based ADAS system.

Battery, range and performance
This EV has 68.4 kWh and 82.7 kWh battery packs, which give a range of 620 to 710 km. The electric motor generates power ranging from 326 PS to 367 PS and 305 Nm torque. Top speed is 210 km/h. The most special thing is its ultra-fast charging technology, due to which this SUV can be charged 10–70% in just 5 minutes and almost full charge in 9 minutes.
