BYD’s Affordable Electric Car: BYD, the global leader in electric vehicle sales, has now introduced its smallest and most affordable electric car, the BYD Seagull car, to the general public. This car is BYD’s smallest car. Which was unveiled by the company during the ‘Bangkok Motor Show’ organized in Thailand. Interestingly, this car was already available in the global market; In certain regions, the company was available with the names Seagull or Dolphin Surf but now the car has come back to customers in a new guise. It is the company’s most affordable electric car, designed to provide an economical and convenient transportation option for urban environments. The company has made this car available in four color options including Shell White, Quantum Black, Pop Green and Velocity Blue.

How much does this car cost?
The company has launched the car in Thailand, where its price starts at Rs 4,29,900. In terms of Indian rupees, this cost is approximately Rs 12.32 lakh. Meanwhile, the ‘top-end’ i.e. the highest grade variant of this car is priced at 4,59,900 baht which is approximately Rs.13.18 lakh. The car is available in four color options and its interior uses a black and gray color theme. In the company’s global product range, this car falls below the ‘BYD Dolphin’ and is known as the brand’s smallest vehicle in Thailand. The car measures 3,925 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height; Also, its wheelbase is 2,500 mm.
The car was launched in two variants
In Thailand, the company has launched the car in two variants, Dynamic and Premium. The vehicle is equipped with LED headlamps, LED DRLs and tail lamps. Additionally, the car gets special features like a sporty rear spoiler, ‘floating roof’ design, rain-sensing wipers and 15-inch alloy wheels. Talking about the interior of the car, it gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system is equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This car also has ‘automatic climate control’, leather seats, ‘rear-view camera’ and many other facilities and features.
Battery, performance and range
The BYD Atto 1 car is specially designed for the urban environment. It has a front-mounted electric motor that produces 74 HP of power and 135 Nm of torque. This car accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. It offers three different driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. The vehicle is fitted with a 30.08 kWh battery, which provides a driving range of 300 km. The car supports 6.6 kW AC charging, as well as fast DC charging up to 30 kW. The ‘Premium’ variant of this car gets a bigger battery with a capacity of 38.88 kWh, which gives an extended driving range of 380 km.
