Cameron Green Bowling : The second match of IPL 2026 was played on Sunday at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, Mumbai Indians chased the huge target of 221 runs and registered a big win by 6 wickets. But, after the defeat, Kolkata Knight Riders fans raised questions as to why Cameron Green did not bowl against Mumbai. On which Cricket Australia’s reaction has come to the fore.

Cricket Australia has clarified that Cameron Green has a lower back injury which is undergoing treatment, but due to this he will have to stay away from bowling for some time. Cameron is currently resuming his bowling practice in India, so he should be back in about 10-12 days. KKR has been informed about this and is fully aware of this information.
When asked after the match about the all-rounder’s glaring lack of contribution, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane replied simply: “Ask Cricket Australia. CA confirmed on Monday that Green, who had undergone a major back surgery in late 2024, is currently suffering from a minor back issue and his IPL franchise has been fully informed about this.
“Cameron has a lower back injury which is being treated, but will require him to stay away from bowling for some time,” a Cricket Australia spokesperson said, reports cricket.com.au. “Cameron is currently resuming his bowling practice in India, so he can make a comeback in about 10-12 days,” he said. “KKR has been informed about this and they are fully aware of it.”
Let us tell you that Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane is not happy with the fact that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green—who is the most expensive player of the team and was bought for Rs 25.20 crore. He did not bowl during the team’s disappointing six-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians, and the team failed to defend the target of 220 runs.
