On Wednesday, police conducted a medical examination of two minor victims in a sexual abuse case registered at Jhunsi police station in Prayagraj. According to sources and media reports, medical reports have confirmed that both the minors were sexually assaulted. This report is now included in the case diary as an important piece of evidence. Complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari has also claimed that the report has clear indications of sexual abuse, thus warranting legal action against accused Swami Avimukteswaranand and his accomplices.

FIR filed in Jhunsi Police Station
The entire case started when the Jhunsi police registered a case under the POCSO Act against Swami Avimukteswarananda Saraswati, his disciple Mukundananda Giri and three other unidentified persons, on the orders of the ADJ sexual assault and POCSO special court. The police investigation so far has also revealed the names of two other accused namely Arvind Mishra and Prakash Upadhyay. Two novices were allegedly sexually abused during the Magh Mela. The police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the role of other suspects in the ashram.
High Court hearing on pre-arrest bail application tomorrow
Amid growing fears of arrest, Swami Avimukteswaranand has filed a pre-arrest bail application in the Allahabad High Court. The important petition will be heard on Friday, February 27, 2026 before a single bench of Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha. Legal experts are of the opinion that getting relief from the High Court may be difficult as allegations are confirmed in the medical report. If the court rejects the anticipatory bail application, the Uttar Pradesh police can arrest them at any time.

Ashutosh Brahmachari’s claim: Video and photos available
Ashutosh Brahmachari, the main complainant in this case, has made several bold claims in the media. Showing a laptop, he claimed that he had concrete photo and video evidence related to the sexual exploitation of minors. Ashutosh alleged that not only saints but also prominent political leaders and VIPs are involved in this case. Moreover, they have made serious allegations of fraud of around Rs 3 to 4 crore and attempts to destroy evidence (such as the swimming pool) at the ashram. According to him, the total number of victims may include approximately 20 children and some women.
