Indian Army soldiers now under revised rules instagram They will be able to create an account or sign up, but they will be limited to viewing content only. The soldiers will neither be able to post anything nor will they be allowed to like any post.
Earlier, Army personnel could sign up on X (formerly Twitter), but were not allowed to create an account on Instagram (Military Social Media Policy). Now, in view of the digital age of information, the Army has given this conditional permission, so that the soldiers can remain connected with the activities of the country and the world and their awareness level remains maintained.
According to sources, these revised guidelines have been implemented a few days ago and will be equally effective on all ranks of the Indian Army. Under the new rules, soldiers will be able to view only posts on Instagram, but will not be allowed to share any kind of content, like posts or respond.
The sources also clarified that a ban on posting content is already in place on X. Army personnel using X can only view posts, but are not allowed to post, re-post or comment.
This change in the guidelines (Military Social Media Policy) has been made keeping in mind the fact that the nature of information is changing rapidly and the Army cannot keep itself completely isolated from this digital world.
Through internet media, the soldiers will be able to get information about the activities of the country and the world, but it has been ensured that no sensitive or confidential information is leaked even unknowingly. For this reason, strict restrictions have been maintained on activities like posts and likes.
