Although this trade declined slightly to between 7.2 to 7.5 billion dollars in the financial year 2025-26, but both sides are now trying to increase it again. Trump tariffs and new challenges

Rising tensions between the US and Canada and the pressure of Trump tariffs have forced Canada to look for new trading partners. India is a safe option to compensate for the losses that the Canadian economy is suffering due to the tariff war in the steel, aluminum and auto sectors. Improving relations with India will not only increase trade but the position of both the countries on the global stage will also emerge stronger and more influential. This journey of Mark Carney shows that leaving past mistakes behind and moving forward on the path of development is the biggest and real victory of diplomacy.
