Canal motor theft racket busted in Tharad Panthak: 7 accused arrested with 13 submersible motors
Vav-Tharad District (LCB) has busted a gang of people stealing submersible motors from a canal in the outskirts of Del village of Tharad taluka and arrested seven accused. A total of Rs. 4,00,050 including 13 stolen submersible motors has been seized from the accused. This action has also solved two unsolved theft cases registered in Tharad Police Station.
A special operation has been launched under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Parikshita Rathod and Vav-Tharad District Superintendent of Police Chintan Teraiya to solve the unsolved property related crimes registered in the district. Under this, the police staff under the guidance of LCB Police Inspector A.P. Chaudhary was conducting patrolling and intelligence-based investigations in the Tharad police station area.
During this, based on specific information received, a raid was conducted at the house of Dilipbhai alias Dalo Bhurabhai Thakor, a resident of Del village. The police arrested seven accused from there. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had stolen submersible motors used to draw water from the canal. The police recovered 13 submersible motors worth Rs. 2,60,000 from the accused, a motorcycle worth Rs. 60,000 used in the crime, an axe worth Rs. 50 and eight mobile phones worth Rs. 80,000, totaling Rs. 4,00,050.
The accused have been booked under Section 35(1)(e) of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023 and have been handed over to Tharad Police Station. The police said that this action has successfully solved two unsolved cases of motor theft registered at Tharad Police Station and further interrogation of the entire gang is underway.
