Cancellation of confirmed ticket in Vande Bharat train will be expensive, know what are the rules?

New Delhi. If you are planning to travel in Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, then first know some rules. These rules are related to confirmed ticket cancellation. It will be costly for the passengers to cancel the confirmed ticket of Vande Bharat Sleeper train. If you have purchased a confirmed ticket of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train and cancel it at any time, a minimum of 25% of the ticket price will be deducted. This rule will be applicable anytime after purchasing the ticket.

Whereas if you cancel the ticket between 72 hours to 8 hours before the scheduled time of the train, then you will have to pay 50% of the ticket price. That means, half the amount will be deducted. If you cancel your ticket less than 8 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, you will not get any refund. Railways has made this rule because now reservation charts will be prepared 8 hours before the scheduled time of the train. Earlier this time was only 4 hours ago.

    These new rules for Vande Bharat sleeper trains are quite different and strict from other trains. Even the rules of Vande Bharat chair car trains which are currently running are quite different. Railway officials say that the time for canceling tickets in these trains has been reduced and the refund amount has also been changed. This is being done because only confirmed tickets will be issued to passengers in these trains. That means, there will be no system of waiting list or RAC.

    What are the rules in other trains?
    Talking about the rules of other trains, if you cancel the ticket 48 hours in advance, then there is a deduction of Rs 240 for First AC, Rs 200 for Second AC, Rs 180 for Third AC, Rs 120 for Sleeper Class and Rs 60 for Second Class. If you cancel the ticket between 48 hours to 12 hours in advance, 25% of the ticket price is deducted. And if the ticket is canceled between 12 hours to 4 hours before, then 50% amount is deducted. No refund will be given if the confirmed ticket is not canceled up to 4 hours in advance or TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) is not filed online.

    Minimum fare of 400km
    Talking about the fare of Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, the Railway Board has said that the fare will be charged for a distance of at least 400 kilometers in these trains. Also, these trains will have quota only for women, disabled, senior citizens and those with duty pass. Apart from this, no other reservation will be applicable. That is, common passengers will not get any other facility apart from these special quota. This change may present a new challenge for passengers.
