Can't get the post of Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly elections, this is the reason…

Mumbai: The picture of Maharashtra Assembly elections has become completely clear. There was a contest in this election between BJP, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress. After the huge success of the BJP-led grand alliance, Mahavikas Aghadi has faced a crushing defeat. Before the results of the assembly elections, all three parties of Mahavikas Aghadi had cherished the dream of the post of Chief Minister. However, after the results, Mahavikas Aghadi has not even been able to get the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. It is noteworthy that this has happened for the first time in the history of the state. None of the constituent parties of Mahavikas Aghadi, Congress, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, has been able to win more than 20 seats.

There is also a rule for the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly or Lok Sabha and it requires a certain number of seats in proportion to the total number of members in the Lok Sabha or Assembly. Therefore, according to the rules of the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly, a party The post of Leader of the Opposition is available only if he has 10 percent of the total seats in the state assembly. At present, no constituent party in the Mahavikas Aghadi has crossed the minimum limit of ten percent seats, hence the path to the post of Leader of the Opposition has also been closed. There are a total of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly, hence no one can contest for the post of Leader of the Opposition. Party should have at least 29 MLAs

However, 29 MLAs from any party have not won in Mahavikas Aghadi. From Congress to Shiv Sena (UBT) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP), no party has been able to win more than 20 seats. The three big parties of Maha Vikas Aghadi and other smaller constituent parties together have got 49 seats, but no party has won. Has not got 29 seats. Therefore, Maha Vikas Aghadi will not get the post of Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra. According to the Election Commission website, the numerical strength in the Assembly is as follows: BJP- 132 Shiv Sena- 57 NCP- 41 Total 230 Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray)- 20 NCP- 10 Total- Congress has got 16 seats.
