Captain Dogra spoke after the victory in Ranji final, said- no words to describe the victory
Hubli. Jammu and Kashmir’s captain Paras Dogra looks elated after becoming Ranji champion for the first time and he says that he has no words to describe this victory. Dogra said after the final draw against Karnataka on Saturday,To be honest, I can’t explain. I have no words right now. Right now, this is the greatest thing in my life and I am very grateful for it.
To be honest, I have been lucky to be with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association and the people there have been tremendous. They have been very good and it is not about 11, 14, 15 people, if you look, they have been tremendous.।”
He said,‘They are raising their hands and they are performing really well. They are very eager to win the match and from the very beginning, they were 100% sure that we would win it. Let me celebrate for now. You will see what happens next.”A huge lead of 291 runs in the first innings put Jammu and Kashmir in the driver’s seat.
Karnataka’s only chance to get back into the game was to bowl out Jammu and Kashmir cheaply in their second innings and then set up the chase. They had Jammu and Kashmir in a bit of trouble at 11/2, but Kamran Iqbal saw the new ball and stitched consistent fifty partnerships with Dogra and Samad to take the game further away from Karnataka.
Then, Kamran and Sahil Luthra completely closed the doors for Karnataka with their methodical approach. Kamran Iqbal and Sahil Luthra both scored centuries and will remember their innings for the rest of their lives. From the latter half of the fourth day, the game was a roller coaster ride with Karnataka players just playing on cue. Paras Dogra finally declared in the second session and sent the Jammu and Kashmir team into celebration.
