After the defeat at Lord’s in London, Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “In the end we put a good score on the board. When I was batting, I thought we were a little behind, but in the last few overs we did a good job. They were trying to score runs but could not. If I think about the entire tournament, we did not perform well against good teams.” Talking about his innings, he said, “Against the best teams, your best performance always comes out. I think we need to think about that again. They (Australia) are one of the best teams.”
Harmanpreet further said, “I think they bowled according to their plans. We did not lose wickets, but at the same time we did not get what we expected. It was a good match but unfortunately we did not win. Those catches (in the previous matches) cost us, but today I think we were in the match. We did not play up to our level. As a group, we need to rethink a lot of things, how to play against good teams. Especially because sometimes, you know, we give away too many runs in the last few overs. And if we are chasing, we don’t get those runs. So I think that’s been happening for a long time.”
