Captain Shubhman Gilley created history in the test being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham Gujarati

Indian cricket team captain Shubhman Gilley has created history in the Test being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. He has broken Virat Kohli’s 7 years old record. Virat played an inning of 149 runs in 2018. With the Test captaincy, Shubman Gill has shown a completely different and excellent style in this format. He scored 147 runs in the first innings of the first Test played at Headingley. This was his highest test score at that time.

In the second Test being played against England at Edgbaston, Shubman not only scored the first double century of his career but also made the record of the highest score made by an Indian captain on this ground. As soon as Gill reached 150 runs, he broke Virat Kohli’s record of 149 runs set seven years ago on this ground.

Gill has also become the second Indian captain to score more than 150 runs in England. In 1990, Mohammad Azharuddin played an inning of 179 runs in Manchester. Shubhman Gill has become the fifth Indian batsman to hold the record of scoring a century at Edgbaston. Before Gill, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have scored centuries on this ground.

After Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the team, Shubhman Gilley decided to play at number three in the Test. But, he was not successful at this place. Following Rohit Sharma’s retirement from Test cricket, Gile replaced him as captain. At the same time, after Virat’s retirement from Test, he is batting at number four in his place. So far, he has scored two centuries in three innings at this venue, which also includes a double century.
