Delhi Legislative Assembly Elections 2025: The troubles of BJP candidate Pravesh Verma from New Delhi Assembly seat are increasing. Getting into legal troubles one after the other. Taking cognizance of a video of distribution of sarees at the residence of BJP candidate Pravesh Verma from New Delhi seat, the Returning Officer has registered an FIR. Information about the new case registered against Pravesh Verma has been given on the social media X handle of New Delhi District Election Officer. It was told that a video had surfaced on YouTube. In which it was alleged that sarees were being distributed at the residence of BJP candidate Parvesh Verma. Which constitutes a case of violation of code of conduct.

Returning officer from New Delhi seat complained to the police

It was told by the Election Commission that on receiving this information, a flying squad was immediately sent to the spot. No such activity was found on the spot during verification. However, the video clearly indicates that sarees were being distributed. Based on this, the Returning Officer of New Delhi seat lodged an official complaint with the police. The police have also been asked to investigate the entire matter and initiate action under relevant sections of the Representation of the People Act and other laws.

EC gave this reply on AAP's allegations

The Election Commission has also responded to AAP Party's allegations of not taking action against Pravesh Verma. The Commission said that such allegations that the election machinery is not taking action are baseless. The District Election Office is committed to strictly implementing the code of conduct. Any violation is being taken into active cognizance.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP said attack

Here, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh has made a big attack. During a public meeting in support of AAP candidates on Wednesday, he said that those who distribute shoes, run with them. Whereas Sanjay told the people that you should make Arvind Kejriwal win and get a reward amount of Rs 2100 in the account of every woman.

Let us tell you that an FIR has already been registered against BJP candidate Pravesh Verma from New Delhi seat. Police have filed a complaint against Parvesh Verma for violating the model code of conduct. Pravesh Verma is accused of distributing shoes to voters.

Triangular contest on New Delhi Assembly seat
