Cash seized in Hazaribagh and Jamshedpur during checking regarding assembly elections

Ranchi: Model code of conduct came into force on Tuesday regarding the assembly elections in Jharkhand. After this, the police checking campaign was intensified in different parts of the state. Cash has been recovered during vehicle checking in Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh.

On Wednesday, Chauparan police recovered Rs 6 lakh 22 thousand cash from the bus during vehicle checking near the police station gate in Hazaribagh. Giving information in this regard, CO Sanjay Yadav, SI Bindeshwari Yadav said that the said amount was recovered from the bag of Kamlesh Prasad Sharma, Barachatti, Bihar from Maharani bus. During interrogation, he told the police that he was going to Odisha with the money. Claimed to have taken the money for the maintenance of the family. Here the police seized the entire amount and handed it over to the department. During vehicle checking at Kowali check post in Jamshedpur, the police recovered Rs 1 lakh 38 thousand cash from a car and seized the cash during videography. Police are interrogating the person carrying the cash.
