He told in an event that no one gives you work in exchange of casting couch (Imtiaz Ali) or compromise. Director Imtiaz Ali, while sharing his views on casting couch at the IFFI event, said, 'I have been a part of the industry for the last 15-20 years. I have heard a lot about casting couch.
Those who are saying that some girl comes to ask for work, they feel scared. Imtiaz Ali further said that the chances of a woman who does not say no when it comes to compromise do not increase in getting work. He said, 'It is not at all the case that the girl who compromises will definitely get the role there.

There are many people who will exploit you. But if a girl respects herself by not speaking, then only any other person will respect her. Apart from this, Imtiaz Ali said that the person who compromises, also compromises with his career.
Not only this, Imtiaz Ali also talked about women safety in this event. Giving the example of Kareena Kapoor, he said that the actress was completely safe on the sets of Jab We Met. He recalled how during the train scene, when the lightman said that the light was not right here, Kareena was lying on the berth. He said, 'I told Kareena to leave from here, when the lights get fixed then you lie back down. But he said you put up the curtain and the lightman will fix the lights.
